Constructors
- A constructor's job is to create an object properly by setting the instance variables (attributes) to the proper values.
- Constructor are called with "new".
- The name of a constructor is the same as the name of the class it belongs to.
- The default constructor is the constructor that takes no arguments - it should set each instance variable to the appropriate default value.
- Example:
public ClassName()
{
}
- Careful with your terminology:
- You can call a method; you can call a constructor; but you do NOT "call" a class.
- You can instantiate a class, or construct an object, or create an object by calling the constructor, but this is not "calling" the class.
